What you will be doing:

Counsel clients in their COMMERCIAL real estate dealings in matters including acquisition and development, eminent domain, property management, land use, entitlements, environmental issues and construction law.

Provide assistance with the disposition of clients' properties, including leasing or selling unused space.

Experience should include complex, multi-million dollar real estate transactions, acquisitions and dispositions, sale lease backs, dual beneficiary trusts, title review, conveyances and easements, property leases, joint ventures and other forms of ownership, as well as ground leases involving office parks and shopping centers.

Advise on a range of zoning and entitlement services, including variances, permits and re-zoning property as small as .5 acres, to as large as 50+ acres for commercial uses.

Plaintiff's personal injury firm looking for a Trial Lawyer who has his/her heart in trying / prosecuting personal injury trials. If you have a sense of a desire for justice for your injured client and you have significant trial experience then we would like to meet with you. Job Description # 1.

J. Craig Venter Institute, a not-for-profit research institute dedicated to the advancement of genomics, is seeking a Scientist to work on board the Institute’s research vessel, Sorcerer II. This position provides a unique opportunity to work and live with a dynamic and enthusiastic team contributing to the broader goals and initiatives of the Institute’s environmental metagenomics research projects. The scientist is responsible for conducting marine microbial sampling and associated data collection.

Successful candidates will be experienced with:

  • Standard oceanographic physical, chemical, and/or biological sampling
  • General molecular biology skills
  • Microscopy skills
  • Experience with sterile technique
  • Open-ocean sailing experience
  • Ability to follow and refine scientific research protocols
  • Ability to maintain scientific equipment in good repair
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move reasonably heavy scientific equipment up to approximately 50 lbs under adverse conditions (i.e., a moving boat during adverse weather conditions).
  • Ph.D. in Oceanography, Microbiology, or equivalent preferred. Masters or Bachelors Degree in Oceanography, Microbiology, or equivalent with relevant experience in one of the same with extensive research experience will be considered.

We are seeking a Biologist / Environmental Specialist to participate in identification of wildlife and sensitive species habitat, and wetland identification. A minimum of 4 years of experience in the preparation of biological reviews and biological evaluations. A Bachelor's degree required in Biology, Botany, Ecology, or related field.

Position will conduct field investigations including species surveys, flora, and faunal species survey and prepare associated reports.

Job Description # 3.

Biologist / Microbiologist (Mid Level)

Summary – Working under the supervision of the Sr. Biologist Task Leaders, the biologist will perform biological support activities in the laboratory and in the field on projects pertaining to microbiological / molecular biological and toxicological analysis of environmental water and soil samples. Work as part of a team on multiple concurrent projects. Must keep good records and have a flexible work schedule to complete projects by deadlines.

Responsibilities - Perform water quality analyses including microbiological tests and qPCR for projects according to EPA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Assurance / Quality Control Guidelines and record all data and activities pertaining to the project. Assist in experimental design of projects as well as writing weekly progress reports and final project reports. Help track inventory of supplies for timely ordering. Attend meetings with client and coworkers to discuss projects and present findings. Assist in toxicology laboratory analyzing test results. Perform field work (e.g. sampling) when requested.

Requirements

  • Masters of Science degree in environmental science, microbiology, molecular biology or similar field. Bachelor’s degree plus experience may be substituted for a master’s degree.
  • Good writing and speaking skills with ability to follow written experimental procedures.
  • Experience and proficiency with research and data analysis using computer software programs. Be able to work independently, be team oriented; and have working knowledge of WordPerfect, Microsoft® Word and Excel, and Adobe Acrobat. Experience with LIMS preferable.
  • Reliable and proactive. Ability to work with limited supervision, determine when to ask for support and direction, and to cooperatively engage with coworkers.
  • Ability to multitask and pay meticulous attention to detail in tracking project activities, schedules, and work products.
  • Commitment to assisting Sr. Biologists in providing superior quality work products for client by deadlines.

Desired Requirements

  • Experience with performing microbiological assays used to quantify bacteria and coliphage, light spectroscopy, microscopy, filtration, centrifugation, DNA/RNA isolation and purification, gel electrophoresis, Real-Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction assays, QA/QC procedures.
  • Experience with field work (e.g. sampling) in the marine and freshwater environment.
